Kesserwan Arteau celebrates the arrival of Marie-Christine Gagnon, a lawyer well-known by the Indigenous communities and by the businesses operating in their territories.
Through her years of experience, Ms. Gagnon has gained extensive expertise in Indigenous rights issues, including the processes of consultation and accommodation, the conclusion of socio-economic agreements, the development of partnerships between industry and communities, and the governance of Indigenous organizations. Ms. Gagnon has also advised large companies working in the development of land and natural resources.
She has also been involved in the First Nations women's issues in Val d'Or.
Working until recently in the service of one of Canada's largest law firms, Ms. Gagnon is excited to be able to showcase her practice within the more flexible framework offered by Kesserwan Arteau.
"Partering with Kesserwan Arteau gives me the flexibility to offer a service that is tailored to my clientele, as well as the support of a multi-disciplinary team with in-depth knowledge of the particular issues in our field of practice."
"We are delighted that Ms. Gagnon has chosen to continue her practice as part of our firm and happy to count on her expertise," said Karina Kesserwan. "We look forward to working together to help create better conditions for communities and successful results for individuals," added Jean-François Arteau.
